Which Grant is Right for Me?

MCT most commonly offers grants under the six categories below. However, we occasionally also consider funding projects outside of these categories. Please contact us if you wish to discuss a project for Morvern which you think we may be able to help with, or if you are not sure which grant application best suits your project.

ANNUAL STUDENT BURSARY GRANT

MCT’s Annual Student Bursary Grant offers £500 per academic year to any student from Morvern studying at college or university. You must complete a short application for the grant at the beginning of each academic year and provide evidence from your college or university of your enrolment. SMALL GRANT

MCT’s Small Grant goes up to £1,000 for individuals or organisations in Morvern with ideas which will benefit Morvern’s people, nature and amenities. If you are applying on behalf of a company or community group, you will need to send supporting documents such as your bank statements, constitution etc. as well as your grant application. If you’re planning to pay for equipment or services with funding from MCT, you’ll need to provide two quotes to show that the best value for Morvern will be obtained. BUSINESS START-UP GRANT

MCT’s Business Start-up Grant is ideal for partnering with funding from your own investment and other funders, such as Business Gateway, to get a great small business idea off the ground. Our Business Start-up Grant offers between £500 and £2,500. It could help cover start-up expenses from gaining accreditation certification through to purchasing business equipment. Please note that our grants do not cover normal running expenses such as insurance, rent or wages, etc. As well as your grant application, you will be asked to provide basic financial projections and business planning information as supporting documents. MAIN GRANT

MCT’S Main Grant offers between £1,001 and £10,000 and, just like the Business Start-up Grant, it’s also ideal for partnering with your own investment and other funders’ backing for bigger, more ambitious initiatives than our small grants cover. As well as completing your grant application, you will be asked to provide detailed supporting documents, including your fully-costed business plan and projections for how the funding you’ve applied for will go to work in Morvern. We may also request a meeting between you and two MCT Trustees, to support your application. SKILLS/EDUCATION ENHANCEMENT BURSARY

MCT’s Skills/Education Enhancement Grant is perfect for people who want to add an educational experience or accreditation to help them on their journey to gaining more qualifications and/or developing readiness to further a local career. This grant has a wide remit: it’s been used by local High School students travelling internationally to represent Morvern in sporting events, and it has also funded additional workplace readiness and safety qualifications for critical keyworker roles, such as working aboard the Caledonian Macbrayne ferry service between Lochaline and Mull. To apply for this grant, please click here.

CRISIS GRANT

MCT’s Crisis Grant confidentially offers up to £1000 to deal with crises in health or personal finances which make permanent living in Morvern unexpectedly challenging. To apply for our Crisis Grant, please click here.
